David Yurman Opens First Chicago Jewelry Store

Jewelry designer, David Yurman, has opened his first jewelry store in Chicago which features his entire line of fine jewelry including the bridal collection. The Chicago retail location is one of the largest out of his 15 stores.

The new jewelry store will carry Yurman’s signature cabled designs as well as rings, earrings, neclaces, jewelry watches, men’s jewelry and jewelry crafted with yeloow or white gold, silver, South Sea pearls, amethyst, beads and diamonds.

David Yurman established the company in 1979 and now the company’s retail and wholesale revenues combined are reportedly between US$400 and US$700. David Yurman jewelry is sold at Bloomingdale’s, Nordstron, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and other retailers.

According to a statement in the Chicago Sun-Times, David Yurman said that

“Chicagoans prefer larger, in-your-face jewellery, as well as classic designs in black and white and black and gold, We’ve gotten away from the whispery, shy jewellery.”

He also mentined that the stores generate an estimated 25% of David Yurman’s overall revenues.
